Privacy & terms.
Information about your reading world, your content, and how the service works.
Terms of Use
NovaNook is owned and operated by GEOFox APPs LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us”). These draft terms cover the NovaNook website, applications and associated services (the “Service”).
1. Service and availability
NovaNook is a personal digital library and customizable reading space. Features include book organization, imports, reading timers and sessions, journals, levels, companions, virtual rewards and selected sharing tools. Availability depends on platform, account status, connectivity and enabled features. Preview announcements and disabled purchase/video cards do not guarantee availability.
We may maintain, update or limit features as reasonably needed, subject to applicable law and obligations for paid access. Catalog data and reading statistics can contain errors. A book cover or metadata entry does not grant a license to read or download a third party's book.
2. Accounts and eligibility
Provide accurate registration information, protect your credentials and use only accounts you are authorized to access. You are responsible for activity you authorize. Do not share passwords or verification codes. Access may require email verification and a supported device.
You must have legal capacity to enter applicable agreements or obtain authorization required by law. The specific minimum age, guardian requirements and permitted launch regions remain pending final review. This draft does not authorize collection of children's personal information or establish a parental-consent program.
3. Your content and sharing
You retain rights you hold in your original notes, journal entries, images and other content. You grant the Company limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, reproduce, transmit and display content as needed to provide, secure and maintain the Service and carry out sharing choices you make. This does not transfer ownership to us.
Upload/share only material you are entitled to use. Private journals and notes differ from text deliberately placed in profile fields, recommendation shelves or exported cards. Recipients can copy shared links and images. Removing content inside NovaNook cannot recall copies made outside the Service.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service for unlawful activity, harassment, impersonation, rights infringement, malicious uploads, unauthorized access or disruption. Do not manipulate timers, referrals or accounts to obtain rewards dishonestly, bypass purchase/access controls, or obtain private information without authorization. Respect third-party licenses and platform rules.
We may investigate security issues and restrict abusive activity, content or access where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law. The absence of a general post/message composer does not permit abusive names, images or shelf descriptions.
5. Timers, levels and virtual rewards
Timer records depend on accurate use and successful saving. Pause when you stop reading. Streaks currently use qualifying active app-timer time and UTC dates; marathons depend on confirmed enrollment and event windows. Imports, manual logs and finished statuses do not by themselves award coins. Displayed event rules and eligibility govern available awards.
Coins, companions, outfits and other virtual items are limited permissions to use NovaNook features. They are not money, investments, deposits or ownership in the Company and have no cash-redemption right unless required by law. Do not sell or transfer them outside expressly provided features. Server-confirmed records determine balances and ownership; errors or fraud may be investigated and corrected with notice where required. Mandatory rights relating to paid digital content remain unaffected.
6. Paid features and subscriptions
Only an enabled checkout and confirmation create a purchase. When purchases, subscriptions or trials are offered, the checkout must identify product, actual price, billing period, renewal conditions and eligibility before confirmation. A future coin-pack or video card does not itself process payment or award coins.
Apple App Store or Google Play purchases are handled through the relevant store and its payment rules. When enabled, RevenueCat supports entitlement management. Auto-renewing subscriptions continue on the terms displayed at purchase unless canceled through the purchasing store. Refund eligibility depends on applicable law and store rules; use the relevant store's process.
Deleting a NovaNook account does not cancel a store subscription. This draft promises no fixed trial duration, subscription price or permanent feature allocation. Applicable store licenses also govern app distribution. Apple and Google are not the operator of NovaNook.
7. Saving, exports and account deletion
Account libraries use hosted storage and account-specific device caches. Local previews, drafts and timer state can remain on a device. A local display is not proof of a completed cloud save. Use available download/export tools and preserve drafts before clearing storage or resolving conflicts. Account exports may exclude uploaded image files.
You may stop using NovaNook and use its account deletion controls. Deletion removes associated account data through that process, subject to legally required or justified retention described below. It does not cancel subscriptions or erase independent copies already downloaded by you or others.
8. Ownership, third-party materials and links
Except for your content and third-party materials, the NovaNook brand, software, original interface and materials are owned by GEOFox APPs LLC or its licensors. Use is permitted for intended personal purposes, subject to these terms and applicable app-store licenses. No rights in third-party book artwork, descriptions or trademarks are transferred to you.
External services control their catalogs, prices, availability and handling of information. A digital-copy shortcut does not connect your provider account or grant reading/listening access. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
9. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee of uninterrupted access, error-free metadata or compatibility with every device. Warranties, remedies and duties that cannot lawfully be excluded remain in effect.
To the extent permitted by law, the Company is not responsible for indirect/consequential losses caused by misuse, third-party failures or circumstances outside reasonable control. No monetary liability cap, arbitration requirement, class-action waiver or chosen court is established by this draft. Final limitations and dispute terms require review for the launch jurisdictions; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Changes, applicable law and disputes
Material changes will be identified through updated policies and appropriate notice where required. Policy changes do not automatically alter historical consent records. Applicable law and non-waivable rights continue to apply. Specific governing-law and venue provisions remain pending owner/legal review.
Privacy Policy
GEOFox APPs LLC operates NovaNook and is responsible for the information handling described here. This policy covers the website, apps and associated features, distinguishing current functionality from features not yet enabled.
1. Information you provide
| Information | Examples and purpose |
|---|---|
| Account | Email, username, display name, account identifier, authentication records and policy acceptance versions, used to create and secure accounts. |
| Library and reading | Books, ISBNs, editions, collections, placement, ratings, favorites, statuses, dates, pages and sessions, used for your library and reading history. |
| Private writing | Journal entries, quotes and book/timer notes, stored for your personal reading tools. |
| Images and preferences | Selected covers, profile/cover photos, room/display choices, motion preferences and companion equipment. |
| Rewards | Timer intervals/registration, qualifying UTC days, marathon enrollment/progress, referral records, transactions and virtual-item ownership. |
| Sharing | Content deliberately supplied for book links, shelves, milestone cards, profiles and enabled group/social features. Sample-reader follows/discovery remain a preview. |
| Support and billing | Details you choose to send for support and, when billing is enabled, store transaction/entitlement references for access verification. |
2. Authentication, device storage and permissions
Supabase handles configured authentication and account storage. Passwords submitted for sign-in are not stored as library/journal fields. Session credentials, account caches, local drafts, timer state and preferences may be stored on your device. Protect device access and sign out on shared devices.
Camera/photo access supports scanning and image features you choose. Images may be resized before saving. Manage permissions in device/browser settings; manual entry remains available where supported.
3. Purposes and legal grounds
Information supports account security, library saving/sync, lookup, writing tools, customization, statistics, requested sharing, reward validation, fraud prevention, entitlement verification and troubleshooting. Timer/reward records help prevent overlapping, repeated or ineligible awards. Information may also support legal obligations and service security.
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, the basis and notices must be determined for actual launch regions. This draft does not assert blanket consent for unrelated advertising or secondary uses.
4. Privacy and sharing choices
Private notes, journals and reading logs are excluded from public book projections. Text deliberately placed in profile fields, shared shelf notes or image cards is different from private writing. Social has separate controls for books, reading activity and counts; real reader discovery/follows are not connected in the current preview.
Book links require an account to open but can be forwarded. Authorized recipients can see included metadata and reading details you opted to share. Revoking a link prevents subsequent supported access, not copies already made. Exported images shared elsewhere follow that recipient platform's rules. Existing group invitations/discussions are separate from the profile preview and expose supplied information to their authorized group audience.
5. Providers and disclosures
Configured providers process information to operate NovaNook: Supabase for authentication/database/uploaded artwork, and hosting/infrastructure providers for delivery. Catalog searches may send search terms or book identifiers to ISBNdb or configured fallbacks such as Google Books/Open Library. Loading external covers/links can disclose ordinary request information, including IP address and browser details, to their hosts.
When mobile billing is enabled, Apple/Google process payments and RevenueCat supports entitlements. NovaNook does not collect payment-card numbers through its own app checkout. Provider policies apply to their independent services.
Information may be disclosed for valid legal process, rights/security protection, or a business transaction subject to safeguards and applicable law. Processing by service providers does not make your private journal public.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Essential device/browser storage supports sign-in, library caches, timers and preferences. The landing page records cookie choices. The current implementation does not load optional analytics/advertising trackers merely because an optional-cookie preference is selected.
Video reward and coin-pack preview cards do not activate an ad network or process purchases. Future tracking, advertising or new uses must be assessed and disclosed before activation, with consent/choice where required. This draft creates no permission to sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Regional sale/sharing definitions, opt-outs and disclosures require final review.
7. Retention and deletion
Account data is maintained to provide the account and requested features. Account controls offer data downloads and deletion. Clearing browser data removes local copies/preferences, not the hosted account. Deleting an entry/book differs from account deletion.
Limited records may need retention for legal obligations, transaction integrity, security or disputes. Exact retention periods and backup-deletion cycles depend on deployed infrastructure and must be finalized before launch. This policy makes no promise of immediate deletion from every backup or an unverified retention duration.
8. Security and international processing
The app uses authentication, access controls and account-scoped records to protect private data. No service/storage method is perfectly secure. Do not put passwords or verification codes in notes or support messages. Protect exported account files and copied support details.
Providers may process information outside your state/country. Hosting regions, transfer safeguards and regional notices require final deployment review; this draft makes no specific data-residency guarantee.
9. Your choices and requests
Available controls include editing data, sharing settings, deleting entries/account, downloading records, permissions and cookie preferences. Depending on applicable law, rights can include access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction/objection, withdrawal of consent, appeal and complaints to a regulator. Rights/exceptions vary by location.
Identity verification may be needed before acting on a request. A designated contact and regional response process must be confirmed before release. Do not send passwords or verification codes in an ordinary support message.
10. Children and audience review
Minimum age and child/teen audience treatment have not been approved. Animated companions/rewards do not by themselves determine eligibility. Before offering the Service to children or collecting information subject to child-specific rules, the Company must confirm audience, notices, consent, parental safeguards and deletion processes. Do not submit a child's personal information based on this draft.
11. Policy updates
The revision date appears above. Material changes require appropriate notices and consent when required. Feature announcements do not replace updated policies and app-store disclosures before new practices begin.
Book data & credits
Metadata uses ISBNdb and other configured catalog sources where applicable. Covers, descriptions, titles and third-party materials remain subject to rights-holder/provider licenses. Their appearance is not an endorsement or permission to access a digital copy.
Audible, Kindle, Kobo, Apple Books, Apple, Google Play and other third-party names/trademarks belong to their owners. These names identify services users may link to; GEOFox APPs LLC and NovaNook are not affiliated with or endorsed by those services unless expressly stated.
Digital-copy shortcuts open user-selected/supplied external links. They do not connect provider accounts to NovaNook. Sign-in, purchases, availability and whether a device opens a title page, reader or player are controlled by that provider.
